A 50 minute drive north of Launceston on the West Tamar Highway, Beauty Point is the location of the Australian Maritime Collage campus that has the programmes in Fisheries, Marine Environment and the Centre for Vessel Operations. Part of the West Tamar Wine Route that offers good places for meals.

For 25 years up until 2013, Beauty Point has been the starting location for the internationally famous short-handed offshore sailing and endurance mountain running race, the Australian Three Peaks Race.
