Facts
Situated at Port Esperance on the southern part of the D'Entrecasteaux
Channel, Dover is a popular place to visit by cruising yachtspersons as well as motorists.
Many changes have been seen in the town since it was first established as a convict
probation station although little remains of that period to be seen. Dover has been a thriving
port exporting the highly valued Huon Pine, more recently hardwood for building materials but
now is better known as a fishing port.
