Facts

Situated on the rugged west coast, the mining town of Zeehan has seen many changes over its life. In its heyday, the "Silver City of the West" boasted many hotels and was the third largest town in Tasmania boosted by large profits gained from mining silver, lead and zinc. As the mines eventually ran out of ore the town population diminished to now become a dormitory town for nearby mining town Renison Bell.
